Throughout Hotel Jerome’s rich history, the Jerome Bar or J-Bar as it is locally known, has been one of the town’s most popular spots to gather and recount the day’s adventures. From the silver miners of the late 19th century, who would belly up to the bar to celebrate their good fortune to today’s Hollywood stars who celebrate the authentic character of Aspen nightlife, the J-Bar continues to be a place of good times and good drink.
The J-Bar serves a variety of popular mixed drinks, from vintage Aspen cocktails with a contemporary flair to its signature J-rita -- a house-made margarita with a fresh twist.
In addition to their favorite libations, guests can enjoy selections from the J-Bar menu that include savory appetizers, sandwiches and the famous Jerome Burger with cheese, caramelized onions, mushrooms and applewood-smoked bacon and a side of sweet potato fries. Other light fare includes hot Artichoke Spinach Dip with Flatbread, the Jerome All-Natural Chicken Salad, and the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich served with warm house-made Truffle Fries. Whatever your mood, the J-Bar can serve up something memorable.
The J-Bar’s celebrated drink – the now infamous “Aspen Crud,” is steeped in Aspen and Hotel Jerome history. Like many bars across America, the J-Bar was converted to a soda fountain during Prohibition, and this milkshake with a kick was invented around that time period.
